Unlock your true potential

Harness the power of your voice to boost your brain.

A research-backed, revolutionary device

Developed by the creators of the Tomatis® Method, Forbrain is a scientifically proven learning device that enhances cognitive processes and outputs such as voice quality, sound discrimination, stuttering, general cognitive functioning, and reading ability. By utilizing the voice, Forbrain trains the brain to process sensory information more efficiently.

Forbrain's dynamic filter modulates the sound of the user's voice from the moment they speak. This cutting-edge technology analyzes and enhances the voice by amplifying frequencies and rhythm. The headphones transmit the sound back to the user via bone conduction through the temporal bones, which retrains the brain's auditory feedback loop.

The Auditory Process

Detail your services

ear canal - Air conduction

The process of sound perception begins with the capture of sound waves by the outer ears, the two formations located on either side of the head. These sound waves then travel through the air and into the middle ear, where they are conducted through the ossicles, a set of three tiny bones that transmit sound vibrations to the inner ear.

Once in the inner ear, the cochlea vestibule nerve converts sound into electrical impulses and sends them along the auditory nerve to the brain. This information is then used by the brain to help navigate the world.

ear canal - Bone conduction

Our perception of sound is not limited to air conduction - bone conduction is also an important component. In fact, we mostly perceive our own voice through the vibrations of our cranial bones. This bypasses the external and middle ear and results in faster and more reliable sound transmission compared to air conduction. Forbrain takes advantage of this fact by utilizing bone conduction to enhance the perception of one's own voice, which can be particularly helpful for those who have issues with air conduction or who work in noisy environments where external sounds can interfere with their ability to concentrate.

AUDITORY FEEDBACK LOOP

THE AUDITORY FEEDBACK LOOP

Have you ever noticed how you adjust the volume of your voice when in a noisy environment such as a busy street? If you have, then you’ve experienced the auditory feedback loop. This is the natural process in which we perceive, analyze, assimilate, and continually adjust our speech.

For the loop to function properly, we effortlessly activate our abilities in auditory discrimination, phonological awareness, and the integration of rhythm. These skills are an innate part of human functioning and are necessary for all learning processes.

As you speak into Forbrain's high-sensitivity microphone, the device captures the sound waves produced by your voice. These sound waves are then transmitted to the dynamic filter.

Auditory information is transmitted to the brain 10 times faster through bone conduction via the temporal bones compared to air conduction through the ear canals.

What it helps with

Reading, Writing

Improved sound reception and efficient processing with Forbrain can enhance your ability to understand words, phrases, and paragraphs, leading to a renewed ease in reading that stimulates your brain and motivates you to read more. Speaking and reading aloud with the Forbrain microphone can strengthen your reception, energize you, and boost your motivation. Additionally, the increased processing ability may result in more fluid writing and enhanced creativity.

Verbal or Short-Term Memory

Regular use of Forbrain can be seen as a form of brain exercise as it involves repetitive use of your voice. This exercise activates the auditory pathways in the cochlea that are connected to your verbal and short-term memory. By using Forbrain while speaking or reading aloud on a regular basis, you can activate these pathways and enhance your ability to access your memory more easily. Therefore, daily use of Forbrain can help improve your memory.

Attention, Ability to Stay on Task

Difficulty in sound perception can often lead to attention issues. Forbrain addresses this problem by enhancing bone conduction, which helps you focus your attention and stay engaged in completing a task or project. Using Forbrain to exercise your voice can also boost your energy levels and help you finish school assignments or work projects with ease.

Concentration or Focus (follow-through)

Are you constantly caught up in racing thoughts and find it hard to fall asleep? Forbrain offers a solution with its finely-tuned, high-quality microphone that helps to corral your thoughts and improve focus on the task at hand. By consistently using Forbrain, you can train your brain to concentrate better throughout the day, enabling you to stay on task and follow through with greater ease.

Speech, Pronunciation, Fluency

The process of achieving proper pronunciation is largely attributed to bone conduction. Developing pronunciation skills and speech clarity relies on bone conduction, which is a necessary step towards achieving phonological awareness or the ability to manipulate the fundamental sounds of your language. The emergence of phonological awareness is crucial to reading development and is a prerequisite for reading proficiency. Bone conduction plays a crucial role in the development of the phonological loop, responsible for storing and circulating verbal information. This process not only improves auditory verbal memory but also inner speech and verbal fluency, preventing language decline.

Motivation, Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence

Our brains are wired to respond to the sounds around us, and an excess of noise can lead to overstimulation and a decrease in confidence and motivation. Forbrain directly targets this issue by using your own voice to reduce environmental noise and calm the nervous system. By reducing the cognitive load caused by excessive sound, Forbrain helps to boost self-esteem and motivation, encouraging you to take action and achieve your goals.
